Stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy upgrades standard confocal laser scanning microscopy by bypassing the diffraction limit of light and allows to create super-resolution images.
For optimal STED imaging, abberior offers specially optimized fluorescent dyes. abberior STAR ORANGE and STAR RED are the perfect duo for two-color STED imaging using a STED light at 775 nm. Their molecular structure ensures excellent water solubility and enables background-free imaging. Enjoy the benefits of high photostability and brightness with STAR ORANGE and STAR RED.
SYSY antibodies show high specificity and affinity, making them precise and powerful tools for your microscopy analyses. By using specific antibodies directly coupled to STAR dyes you are able to resolve even finest structures. Direct coupling of STAR dyes to primary antibodies enables direct immune fluorescence with increased binding specificity due to reduced blocking of epitopes. Moreover, reduced linkage errors lead to sharper images.
Elevate your STED microscopy experience further with primary antibodies from SYSY conjugated to abberior STAR dyes.

Homer is a scaffolding protein of the post synaptic density (PSD) and enriched at excitatory synapses. The protein binds metabotropic glutamate receptors, TRPC1, proteins of the Shank family and others. By aggregating these proteins into clusters, homer was suggested to organize distinct signalling domains.
Bassoon is a large protein which consists of an N-terminal Zn2+ finger and several piccolo-bassoon homology domains (PBH-domains). It is generally found together with piccolo, a related huge multi-domain protein of the CAZ (cytoskeletal matrix assembled at active zones). Bassoon is a scaffolding element of the presynapse and is also involved in synaptic vesicle cycling.
Indirect immunostaining of a PFA fixed mouse hippocampus section with mouse anti-Bassoon (cat. no. 141 111, dilution 1:500, red). Nuclei have been visualized by DAPI staining (blue).
The active zone-protein Synaptobrevin2, also known as VAMP2, belongs to a family of integral membrane proteins. It is an essential component of the exocytotic fusion machine, related to a larger protein family referred to as v-SNAREs. Next to neurons, low levels of synaptobrevin2 are present in many other tissues where the protein resides on specialized microvesicles.
