Cat. No. 348 308 |
50 µg purified recombinant IgG, lyophilized. Albumin and azide were added for stabilization. For reconstitution add 50 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use. Antibodies should be stored at +4°C when still lyophilized. Do not freeze! |
Applications | |
Clone | Gp269E7 |
Subtype | IgG2 (κ light chain) |
Immunogen | Recombinant protein corresponding to the N-terminal part of the protein (UniProt Id: Q8CGU9) |
Reactivity |
Reacts with: rat (Q8CGU9), mouse (Q8CGV2). Other species not tested yet. |
Specificity | K.O. validated |
Remarks |
This antibody is a chimeric antibody based on the monoclonal mouse antibody 269E7. The constant regions of the heavy and light chains have been replaced with guinea pig specific sequences. Therefore, the antibody can be used with standard anti-guinea pig secondary reagents. The antibody has been expressed in mammalian cells. |

Tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH) is an enzyme that catalyzes the 5-hydroxylation of tryptophan, which is the first step in the biosynthesis of indoleamines (serotonin and melatonin).
Two isoforms TPH1 and TPH2 have been described. TPH1 occurs mainly in tissues that express serotonin in the periphery (skin, gut, pineal gland). TPH2 is exclusively expressed in neuronal cell types and is the predominant isoform in the central nervous system.
In mammals, serotonin biosynthesis occurs predominantly in neurons which originate in the Raphe nuclei of the brain.
